Educators can choose from several specializations when obtaining an online degree
There are approximately 13.5 million jobs within educational services throughout the U.S., according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Students who are interested in becoming teachers may find that they have many places to look for work. Pre-kindergarten or elementary schools as well as secondary and postsecondary institutions are some places where these individuals could land a career.
In fact, some schools are launching new programs to make enrolling in courses easier for professionals and students. One example is Kaplan University, which recently announced it will increase its online degree offerings to provide more options for those who are interested in the education industry.
One of the new programs is a bachelor's in early childhood development. Students who enroll in this program will learn about lesson planning, growth and development, health, nutrition as well as ethics that pertain to kids from birth to eight years old.
Of the new programs, an online master's degree in higher education as well as graduate certificates in teaching with technology, K-12 educational leadership, mathematics, literacy and language will also be provided.
Similar Web-based programs may appeal to professionals who would like to focus on a particular aspect within the education industry. Teachers could maintain their current position while they also obtain an online degree.
