Drexel University Online adds four new post-masters specializations
Drexel University, an accredited online education provider, has recently added to its distance education options for librarians by launching four new post-masters library and information science specialist programs through its iSchool.
Through the university's online platform, students enrolled in the masters degree offering can now choose from concentrations in competitive intelligence and knowledge management, archival studies, digital libraries and youth services.
"We're very proud to offer our students the Drexel curriculum within this convenient online format," said Kenneth Hartman, academic director at Drexel University Online. "All of our online programs - including the post-masters specialist programs - are taught by the same faculty as our campus courses."
The program's new competitive intelligence and knowledge management specialization is designed for students who are interested in developing the skills necessary to support critical technology activities in corporate libraries, special libraries and other organizational settings.
According to the 2009 Sloan Survey, approximately 4.6 million students were enrolled in at least one online course in the fall of 2008, according to the 2009 Sloan Survey.
