Community college students now eligible to take single online courses
Kaplan University has recently announced an agreement with the California Community Colleges Chancellor's Office that will allow local students to take single online courses to help them fulfill campus-based associates degree requirements.
California students can now enroll in any Kaplan course that has been approved by their community college and receive the applicable course credit. Those taking part in the program will be eligible for a 42 percent tuition reduction on any online course.
Officials at the university have also announced the "save my credits" transfer program, which will allow community college graduates to transfer their credits into an online bachelors degree program while receiving a 10 percent discount.
"Providing single course options for California community college students demonstrates the personalized approach for which Kaplan is known," said Gregory Marino, president of the Kaplan University Group. "It also allows California students to pursue their dreams of earning a college degree."
Students enrolled in single online courses will receive textbooks and instructional materials at no additional cost.
Online universities may be particularly attractive to adults who would like to acquire new skills but do not have the time to do so in a conventional setting.
