Bryant and Stratton College Online to continue Salute to Spouses program
Despite the recent announcement by the Department of Defense (DoD) that it will partially reinstate its Military Spouse Career Advancement Accounts program (MyCAA), Bryant and Stratton College Online has said it will continue to offer scholarships to those married to members of the armed forces through its Salute to Spouses program.
In early March, the DoD announced that it will resume operations of the MyCAA program, after indefinitely suspending it in February due to over-enrollment. However, the department will only re-open the program to military spouses who currently have existing MyCAA accounts, but will not be taking any new applications.
"While it is great news that existing accounts will be honored, military spouses not currently enrolled in MyCAA must either put their education on hold, or find other ways of financing it until DoD begins accepting new enrollments," said Scott Traylor, Bryant & Stratton's director of admissions for online education.
In light of the situation, Bryant and Stratton will offer $6,000 scholarships toward an online degree program to the first 100 qualified applicants through its Salute to Spouses initiative.
