BGSU recognized for excellence in online education
Bowling Green State University's online education offering - which includes more than 500 online courses and 15 online degree and certificate programs - has been recognized by the Ohio Board of Regents (OBOR) and its Ohio Learning Network (OLN).
According to TheNewsMessenger.com, the school has been selected as the site for Ohio's new OLN Center for Excellence in E-Learning because it has "knowledge, proven capacity and a rich history in supporting quality e-learning," in the words of Sheryl Hansen, an OBOR staff member.
The news provider also quotes Connie Molnar, director of the Center for Online and Blended Learning (COBL) at the university, and a co-supervisor of the project, as saying that "[it] will benefit BGSU by drawing even more attention to the quality and diversity of its online programs, and giving our faculty the recognition they deserve for innovative instruction that maintains the integrity and rigor of their curricula."
Adults seeking a new career may explore the many online degree programs offered by institutions around the country, keeping in mind the statistics from the Census Bureau which suggests that individuals with college degrees earn about twice as much as those with only a high school diploma.
