Bachelor's degree in digital cinematography offered at Full Sail University
Full Sail University recently launched the Digital Cinematography bachelor of science degree program, a 32-month online curriculum that aims to foster students' knowledge and understanding to help them attain digital filmmaking careers, according to RedOrbit.com.
The coursework is designed to teach individuals how to apply new technologies to create cinematic and commercial works. Offerings include photography, high-definition video production, lighting and visual effects, as well as digital filmmaking, internet marketing, film distribution and audio post-production.
The program "immerses students in the emerging field of digital cinematography and storytelling through various visual mediums," said Rick Ramsey, director of visual arts for Full Sail, quoted by the news source. "We are providing students with the ability to be dynamic visual authors by merging communication and connectivity with technology and creativity."
Students who are interested in becoming creative entrepreneurs may also benefit from the coursework. Participants will have the chance to shoot and edit digital films, documentaries, webcasts and commercials, as well as start their own production companies or join numerous positions in the workforce.
The 2010 Sloan Survey of Online Learning reveals that web-based enrollment rose by almost 1 million students from last year.
