Professionals or adults who want to return to school face the challenge of juggling multiple responsibilities, and the University of Miami School of Business Administration's latest move may make earning a business degree a little easier.

The school has recently announced it will revise its Executive MBA and MBA for Working Professionals programs so that students can tailor their curriculum to suit individual needs with elective courses.

"Students [will be able to] to pursue special areas of study - such as marketing, finance and international business - so that they can design their curriculum to best meet their own professional growth and career goals," says Barbara Kahn, the school's dean.

She further explains, "they will have the added opportunity to expand their professional networks beyond those with whom they are in class during the bulk of the program [by taking electives with students outside their cohorts]."

The Miami school is one of many American institutions offering MBA degrees, both traditionally and via online programs.

PayScale.com, a research company, says that average salaries for holders of MBA degrees ranged from $73,510 to $171,583 in 2008, depending on the field, position and years of experience.
