Weekend MBA program draws a wide variety of applicants

Recent research has revealed that individuals who are seeking higher education are becoming more partial to online courses. In fact, a 2008 survey from the Sloan Consortium indicated that enrollment in web-based classes increased by 12 percent from the previous year.

As a result, many campus-based and online schools are catering to the needs of busy students by creating flexible learning options.

The University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business is one of these institutions, as school officials recently announced the launch of a part-time MBA program.

A total of 63 students from across the country make up the program’s inaugural class. Over the course of two years, these degree seekers will attend weekend classes that will examine subjects such as strategies for growth, plan execution and global competitiveness.

Similar programs could enable business professionals to pay equal attention to their career development and continuing education.

According to the PayScale.com, a research company, top-earning MBA degree holders have the potential to earn more than $200,000 per year.
