University of South Carolina to use new technology for online courses in business
The Darla Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina has announced it will utilize a technological development to enhance its online MBA program's offerings.
The school has signed a contract with Cisco to integrate its TelePresence technology, a high-definition conferencing tool, into its graduate-level executive education, business and management classes.
The TelePresence technology will allow students and professors to have virtual face-to-face meetings that are intended to help them collaborate with one another more efficiently.
The school will also use the equipment to connect its students with one of its 20 affiliates around the world to give them firsthand experience with international business.
Integration of the conferencing system into the school's Professional MBA program will begin in February in order to add a "dialogue between faculty, students, business and government from different cultures and countries around the world" to the curriculum, said Hildy Teegan, dean of the Moore School of Business.
As technology continues to improve the offerings of online education, working adults and business students may consider enrolling in online MBA programs to gain a quality education while fulfilling their professional obligations.
