University of Montevallo's business school expands offerings
As the demand for highly educated business professionals continues to grow, many campus-based and online colleges - such as the University of Montavello - are making MBA programs more accessible to their students.
The Alabama-based college has announced the launch of an MBA program at its Michael E. Stephens College of Business following the state's approval of its proposal for the degree, according to the Shelby County Reporter.
William Rupp, dean of the business school, told the news source that the new program will benefit all students, as "accounting students...can get their bachelor's in business administration and then get their master's for just a few credits more."
The university already awards a business minor to all degree seekers who take 21 hours of business-related coursework, which will enable students to easily transition into the 30- hour masters program.
According to the school's website, the program is intended to help students launch careers in operational management and strategic leadership at public and private sector organizations. The program can be completed through full-time study over the course of two semesters and one summer session, or through part-time enrollment at a student's own pace.
