University of Florida's online MBA program receives prestigious honor
Earlier this week, the University of Florida's online masters in business administration program received an "excellent" rating by The Economist's 2010 distance learning special publication. The school's degree offering was one of only two MBA programs in the world to earn the annual survey's top ranking, according to University of Florida News.
The publication, titled Which MBA?, rated each program in three broad areas: content, quality of students and quality of the distance learning platform. Experts with the magazine cited several factors for UF's top ranking, including high quality distance learning materials, minimal student attrition and the value of the education compared to the cost of the program.
In addition, the university's MBA program was found to have exceptional overall content and a high percentage of faculty with a Ph.D.
"The focus of our Internet MBA Program has always been the synergy of exceptional students, and learning from renowned faculty while utilizing the latest technology," said Alex Sevilla, director of the university's MBA programs.
"Rankings such as these are a testament to our students and showcase the return on investment of a UF MBA," he added.
