The number of students who are obtaining a doctorate or master's degree is increasing
An increasing amount of students may be benefiting from a doctorate or master's degree, as some schools are reporting higher enrollment numbers for these programs.
According to The Fort Collins Coloradoan, Colorado State University (CSU) set a record for individuals who received these degrees, last year. Since then, enrollment for these programs has increased by 5 percent.
Peter Dorhout, vice provost for CSU's graduate school, told the newspaper that in order to attract more students, the school has continued to create new degree programs. For instance, CSU is now working alongside two institutions in the area to provide doctorate and master's programs in public health (MPH). Dorhout added that these new options are a "good example of trying to understand a need."
Payscale.com reports that individuals who obtain an MPH could work as clinical research coordinators, healthcare consultants, executive directors or project managers. Students who wish to land a career in any of these professions may find similar programs can lead them into multiple career opportunities.
