Study: University of Miami professor is the world's top international business scholar
A new study published in the International Business Review has named Yadong Luo, a professor of management at the University of Miami School of Business Administration, the world's premier authority on international business.
Researchers singled Luo out of 4,000 experts from 1,200 institutions whose work was examined for the study. A total of 17,000 scholarly articles published between 1996 and 2008 were examined, and the authors were ranked based on the number of pages published and each journal's impact factor.
As a result, Luo was placed at the top of a list of 50 scholars.
Barbara E. Kahn, dean of the business school, said that "great business schools are measured in large part by the strength of their faculty, and we are very proud to call Yadong one of our own as we work to earn our place among the world's most elite institutions for management research and education."
The college was also ranked 20th on the researchers' list of the top business schools for international research, which included Harvard University and London Business School.
