Students at online universities may consider internships

Undergraduate students who are planning to pursue MBA degrees at campus-based or online colleges may benefit from the work experience that can be gained through internship programs, such as the one offered by Future Tech Enterprise.

The Long Island-based information technology (IT) company has opened the application process for its spring internship program, which will offer college students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience that could help them in their academic and professional pursuits.

Students will able to apply for internships in the company's marketing, public relations, configuration, accounting, general business management and human resources departments. While each program is intended to help students further their knowledge in their field of choice, all interns will receive daily, weekly and monthly projects that may require them to work with other sectors of the business.

Similar opportunities could help students increase their chances of acceptance to classroom-based or online degree programs in business.

Lauren Biscardi, a former Future Tech intern, said her experience and the recommendations she received from supervisors helped her pursue a MBA degree in IT Management.
