Schools add specialized concentrations for MBA degrees

Individuals may find that pursuing an MBA degree can earn them a high payout. Business professionals who have completed this education can earn nearly twice as much as those without any college credits, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS).

In fact, some schools are catering to individuals who would like to pursue higher education by adding specializations to their MBA programs. For example, MidAmerica Nazarene University recently announced it will provide students with more options in the business field to meet the needs of specific areas of interest, the Nazarene Communications Network reports.

Some of the newly offered concentrations will include courses in organizational leadership, international business, healthcare administration or finance, according to the news provider. Students will also be allowed to customize their master's thesis according to their specific interests.

The goal of the new program is to also encourage working professionals to research and propose ideas that could potentially be approved and presented to their employers.

Schools may offer similar MBA programs through which students and professionals can improve their career opportunities. There will be a 20 percent increase in positions for financial analysts - who typically hold MBA degrees - over the next eight years. These professionals could earn more than $140,000 per year, according to the BLS.
