Schools add new specializations for a master's in education
Individuals who would like to work within the education industry may benefit from a master's degree program that specializes in reading and writing, as it could lead to many career opportunities.
Ashford University has announced that it will provide students with this educational option. The school's new curriculum for it's master of arts in education will allow individuals the choice of studying two new areas. These include reading literacy as well as library and media.
Students who focus on reading literacy will acquire the necessary skills for teaching others how to read and write. These individuals could find themselves working in several positions, such as a tutor or specialist in this area as well as a text book author or curriculum coordinator.
Meanwhile, the library and media degree will focus on giving students an understanding of jobs such as a school librarian or media specialist.
The new master's degrees could be convenient for professionals who are already working in the education sector, as all of the courses can be taken online.
Individuals who would like to broaden their opportunities within this industry may want to consider enrolling in similar programs. The Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that over the next decade, there will be more than 96,000 new positions created for secondary education teachers.
