Real estate professionals could benefit from online MBA programs

Members of the real estate industry who wish to advance to managerial positions may want to consider taking masters-level online courses, such as those that are available through Marylhurst University.

Individuals who choose to pursue an MBA degree at the school will now have the opportunity to add a concentration in real estate, according to school officials.

Degree candidates will complete their coursework in a fully online format and take one class at a time, as the curriculum is designed to cater to working professionals. Graduates of this program may boost their chances of assuming managerial duties in their current positions or strive for supervisory job that will give them more responsibilities.

Alain Gracianette, MBA department chair for the university, said this course of study is intended to "help current real estate professionals gain the additional skills they may need to return this industry to health."

Similar online degree programs may help real estate professionals learn new tactics to maximize their sales during the down market. Because they will be able to keep their jobs while they pursue higher education, they will be able to apply what they have learned immediately.
