Prospective business students in remote locations benefit from mobile testing centers, online MBA programs
Pearson VUE will partner with the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) to offer mobile testing centers that will allow those wishing to obtain campus-based or online business degrees to take the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT).
Nearly 4,700 graduate business programs across the globe use GMAT scores as a part of their application. The mobile testing center is one of more than 400 worldwide locations currently administering the test.
The GMAT Mobile Test Center is set to go on its fifth eight-month tour of 32 primarily Hispanic or African-American campuses in 14 states. The automobile - launched in 2006 to increase accessibility to the test in remote areas - has already traveled to more than 100 campuses nationwide.
The bus is equipped with six high-tech stations that operate through satellite communications links to give students who live far from a stationary testing location an opportunity to take the test. The tests include the same security identifications as the exams given at permanent GMAT testing centers.
Those who live in remote locations may consider enrolling in an online MBA program in order to get a degree without a long commute.
