Professionals may earn higher salaries with an online MBA degree

Many schools are increasing their online degree offerings so that busy professionals can enhance their skills and training. For example, Baldwin-Wallace College recently introduced its first Web-based hybrid MBA in management program.

The institution hopes to reach adults who are already working and have multiple responsibilities or long commutes. Approximately 75 percent of the coursework can be completed online, while the remaining requirements will be administered through seven on-campus weekend sessions.

Enrollees will participate in ongoing applied projects and learn about the real-world applications of their studies. These individuals are expected to graduate from the program within two years.

Dale Kramer, director of the school's MBA programs, said that offering this track in an online format integrates coursework with technology "in order to meet the needs of the business community today." He added that aspiring managers of small or large companies will be able to "enhance their leadership profile and understand the integrative responsibilities of management."

Professionals may find that similar online MBA degrees could aid them in earning a higher salary. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, individuals who have completed this level of education could make $500 more each week compared to those who have no college credits.
