Professionals can learn international business skills through online degree programs
Working adults who wish to gain a better understanding of the global business sector may want to consider enrolling in an online degree program that focuses on international business, such as the IE Brown Executive MBA Program.
Brown University and Madrid-based Instituto de Empresa (IE) Business School have partnered to create the curriculum, which includes both online courses and campus-based sessions.
The 15-month program, which will target senior managers who have at least 10 years of work experience, will give students a foundational knowledge of topics in the liberal arts, critical studies and core management fields. Coursework will examine subjects such as history, philosophy, legal studies, psychology, religion, leadership and entrepreneurship.
Individuals who complete the program - which is slated to launch in the spring of next year - will graduate with a degree from IE Business School.
Santiago Inguez, dean of the Spanish college, said that the program will give students a greater understanding of "the key issues faced by senior managers in the 21st century, from economic uncertainty and rapidly changing business models to the rise of emerging markets and increased globalization."
Similar courses of study at campus-based or online schools could give students a more diverse skill set, which may make them more valuable in the eyes of employers.
