Students and professionals who are looking to sharpen their entrepreneurial skills may obtain online degrees in business to gain access to networking opportunities, such as an upcoming conference for Latina business owners.

The National Latina Business Women Association (NLBWA) has announced it will host its annual conference in Sacramento, California later this month.

Conference attendees will have the opportunity to participate in informational workshops on a variety of entrepreneurial topics, including leveraging the media to grow a business, financial solvency and staying competitive.

The annual conference is one of many educational offerings of the organization. The NLBWA also sponsors the Emerging Latina Program, a six to eight week session that offers training in sectors such as marketing, law, accounting and information technology.

Program participants can also compete for a $1,000 scholarship in a business plan writing competition that is held during each workshop.

Such initiatives are intended to help Hispanic female entrepreneurs to "not only succeed as individuals, but also serve as mentors and examples of what can be accomplished through unity and purpose," said Cecilia Mota, the association's national president.

Online courses in business may help individuals engage in similar programs and learn the best approaches to their entrepreneurial ideas.
