Online MBA candidates can gain international business experience
Professionals who wish to launch careers in the international business sector may want to explore the offerings of campus-based and online degree programs, such as those that are available through the University of Indiana.
For the second year, the college's Kelley School of Business has announced it will open its Global Business and Social Enterprise program to MBA candidates who wish apply their skills to the challenges faced by other countries.
Through the program - which will award participants 1.5 credit hours toward their degree - students will work on consulting projects for four small companies and a nonprofit organization in Peru. These individuals will also be allotted class time to work on their plans.
In addition to that, students will have the opportunity to take free Spanish classes through the school's Center for International Business Education and Research, which could prepare them for a two-week business trip to the South American country.
Phillip Powell, chairman of the school's MBA program, said the opportunity is intended to help students further "their education in international business [and] leadership."
Online degree programs could enable business students to participate in similar projects, which could help them develop a marketable skill set and impress employers.
