Individuals who wish to accelerate their careers in the business sector may consider enrolling in online courses, such as those offered by Indiana Wesleyan University.

The Marion, Indiana-based school has announced it will begin offering online MBA programs that use virtual simulations to recreate real-world problems.

Through an initiative called V-learning, students will be required to use what they have learned to find solutions to problems involving products, markets, co-workers, customers and competitors.

School officials have been working with a virtual reality company for two years to develop the software, which is intended to enhance the educational training for MBA candidates.

Using V-learning, students will have the opportunity to encounter problems that typically occur in the workplace.

Paul Richardson, director of the school's graduate business programs, said the simulations "reawakens the imagination and draws on the power of the story to engage the students' intellect and emotion."

Business professionals may consider enrolling in similar programs at online universities, as they can allow them to immediately apply what they have learned to their careers.
