Online degree candidates may have more time to prepare for interviews
Students who choose to further their education by enrolling in online courses may be able to schedule time to prepare for interviews, which could prove to be important as recruiting methods evolve with emerging technology.
The Wall Street Journal reports that many companies that hire MBA degree holders are beginning to interview jobseekers via video conference in order to save money on travel expenses. In addition, many business schools are calling upon the capabilities of video-based technology to help link their students to employers.
As many companies have fewer open positions to fill than they did before, some recruiters are no longer travelling to several campuses each year to find new employees. In turn, career service professionals at some schools are attempting to lure hiring managers to their students with free hotel rooms or subscribing to web-based interview services, such as InterviewStream.
In fact, a total of nine of the top 10 MBA programs currently use InterviewStream to introduce prospective graduates to employers, according to the company's website.
Individuals who wish to earn their MBA may want to consider enrolling in online schools that could give them the technical skills they will need to succeed in web-based interviews.
