Online degree candidates can participate in intelligence seminars
Students who are enrolled in campus-based or online universities to pursue careers in intelligence may apply for career seminars, such as the one offered by the Office of the Department of National Intelligence.
For the second consecutive year, the agency will open its National Security Analysis and Intelligence Summer Seminar in Washington, DC to college seniors and graduate students.
Approximately 40 program participants will be granted clearance to hear lectures, go on field trips and work with intelligence community analysts, academic professionals and experts.
In addition to hands-on training, students will learn about possible career paths in the intelligence sector. Participants will also receive travel arrangements, room, board, course materials and a $500 stipend for their work.
The agency has renewed the program for its second year in an attempt to give students "an inside look at what national intelligence is all about," said Dennis C. Blair, director of the program.
Current and prospective intelligence professionals may consider adding online courses in security or information that can help them stay abreast of emerging trends in the industry.
