Online courses in risk management may boost career prospects
Students and business professionals who wish to further their careers may take advantage of the offerings of risk management programs at campus-based and online colleges, such as the one at the University of South Carolina.
The college's Darla Moore School of Business has announced the launch of a campus chapter of the Global Association of Risk Professionals, which will supplement its risk management department.
University administrators created the chapter to bring additional opportunities to students and faculty in its risk management program, which was ranked among the top ten in the country by U.S. News and World Report.
Through this affiliation with the organization, school officials aim to connect students with job prospects and contacts that could help them launch their careers when they graduate.
The organization is intended to serve as a "platform for students to learn about risk management as a profession that has increasing value to corporations and financial institutions," said Hong Yan, an associate professor of finance at the school.
Individuals who wish to take advantage of growing opportunities in the risk management sector may consider pursuing online degrees that can enhance their qualifications.
