Online courses in business could benefit advertising professionals
Individuals who wish to enter the advertising sector may consider learning business concepts at a campus-based or online university, as this knowledge may help them accelerate their careers.
In fact, one Tampa, Florida-based agency has announced it will work with a nearby college to ensure advertising students are versed in business.
Zimmerman Associates has finalized a partnership with the University of South Florida to create a new degree program in business advertising.
Students who enter the program will be required to declare a concentration in either mass communication or business. Coursework for both tracks will introduce degree candidates to business foundations, including accounting, economics, finance, information systems and marketing.
Jordan Zimmerman, founder and chairman of the advertising firm, said the program will enable students to "craft attention-getting, creative campaigns from a strategic, relevant positioning that enhances the client's long-term brand image, generates revenue and drives traffic that leads to profit."
Advertising professionals who wish to learn these skills may want to consider enrolling in online courses at campus-based or online schools, which can help them diversify their work.
