Online courses could help business professionals gain international experience
Students and working adults who wish to apply what they have learned internationally may wish to consider enrolling in campus-based or online universities that can allow them to travel, such as Babson College.
The Wellesley, Massachusetts-based business school recently organized a trip to Ghana to allow its students and faculty to bring their expertise to some of the country's students and adults.
During the college's winter break, a total of 45 students and faculty travelled to Africa to teach microfinance, entrepreneurship and business to elementary and high school students and nontraditional learners.
Some students also participated in the One Hen project, which aims to help children succeed in school and learn the skills they will need to become financially responsible global citizens.
The goal of the program - now in its 10th year - is to "work with interested students to help them learn about entrepreneurship, business planning and personal development," said Dennis Hanno, Babson's dean of undergraduate programs who founded the project.
Individuals who wish to enhance their credentials through similar initiatives may consider enrolling in online degree programs, which can allow them to gain experience while they pursue higher education.
