In an effort to introduce business professionals to a new method of thinking, the Stanford Graduate School of Business has created an executive education programs that encourages students to work like designers.

The program, which is called Design Thinking Boot Camp: From Insights to Innovation, is intended to teach organizational executives innovative ways to address strategic problems. This course of study was developed by professors in the university's Institute of Design, which is where classes will be held.

Program participants will engage in hands-on projects that required them to use the design thinking method. The curriculum aims to give students a stronger understanding of tech-savvy members of Generation Y, and help them solve problems more efficiently.

Furthermore, enrollees will gain creative skills that could help them launch entrepreneurial ventures in the future.

"We have developed a specific problem-solving process that executives can practice and apply to creative change in products, services, or business planning," said Perry Klebahn, director of the program and inventor of the modern snowshoe.

Similar campus-based or online courses of study could enable students introduce innovative practices to their companies, which could make them more valuable to their employers.
