New MBA program aims to give students an international perspective

The business sector is growing increasingly global, and individuals who wish to enter this field may need to gain additional qualifications in addition to a campus-based or online MBA program.

As a result, many business schools are creating degree programs that can give students marketable skills, such as knowledge of a foreign language or firsthand experience with working professionals.

For example, Northern Illinois University (NIU) recently announced a partnership with the University of Bordeaux in France to create a new MBA program, the Chicago Tribune reports.

Individuals who choose to enroll in the 12-month program will be required to take two three-week trips to Bordeaux during November and March, during which they will take classes at the French business school and meet with executives. Students who complete the program will earn two degrees - an MBA from NIU and a masters degree in international management from the University of Bordeaux.

School officials expect that 25 students, including six from France, will enroll in the inaugural program, according to the news source.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, individuals who earn similar graduate degrees could boost their salaries by thousands of dollars per week.
