MBA students are awarded prizes through competitions
Students who are interested in advanced positions in the business industry may want to consider obtaining an MBA degree from a campus-based or online school. In fact, some enrollees may be able to enter competitions and win prizes while gaining real-world experience.
Baylor University recently held its fourth annual MBA National Case Competition in Ethical Leadership.
For the challenge, MBA students from across the country were given the opportunity to confront and analyze real-world ethical issues that extend beyond the classroom.
A total of 10 teams, each consisting of four students, were involved in this year's competition. The participants received their cases to review and then presented their solutions to a panel of judges.
Participants that finished in the first, second and third places were from the University of Iowa (UI), University of Washington and Pepperdine University, respectively.
More than $8,000 was awarded to the winners, including the highest prize of $5,000 to the students from UI.
There may be similar competitions that MBA students can enter that could prepare them for several business positions. According to Payscale.com, individuals who have completed this level of education can work as chief executive officers or financial controllers, and these professionals have the potential to earn more than $100,000 per year.
