MBA program prepares students for international business careers
As the business sector becomes increasingly global, many campus-based and online schools are launching new programs to prepare students to work for companies that have an international presence.
For example, the Lauder Institute at the University of Pennsylvania has launched a series of MBA programs that focus on international business and culture. The school's latest offering, The Hindi Program, is intended to prepare these individuals to work in India.
Individuals who choose to enroll in this program will undergo intensive language training and learn the economic, political and cultural aspects of the country. Upon completion of the program, these students will hold both an MBA and a masters degree in international studies.
In addition to a rigorous course load, the program includes "intensive in-country immersion experiences, readings and discussions of Hindi literature, business journals, and texts, and a comprehensive training in the business culture and language nuances necessary for successful integration into the Indian business community."
To date, the university has created similar programs that are intended to prepare students to work in nine other countries.
