MBA program integrates evening classes, online courses
The difficult job market has inspired many business professionals to look into campus-based and online MBA programs. As a result, a great deal of graduate schools are competing with one another to create convenient and flexible courses of study that can meet the needs of working adults.
Cal Poly's Orfalea College of Business is one of these institutions, as school officials recently announced the launch of an MBA program that was designed with working students in mind.
Noozhawk reports that individuals who enroll in the college's MBA program will be able to earn a degree through a combination of evening classes and online courses. Degree seekers will attend classroom-based classes at the Canary Hotel in Santa Barbara twice per week, and complete the rest of the curriculum over the Internet.
The program, which is intended to be completed in two years, will begin this fall with classes in managerial finance as well as the legal and regulatory aspects of business.
Similar campus-based and online masters programs could lead students into high-paying careers in financial management. According to Bureau of Labor Statistics, professionals in this field who were working in May 2008 earned an average of $99,330 per year.
