MBA degree can give students an edge when they are looking for a job
The Sun Journal reports that Southern New Hampshire University is planning to provide an MBA degree at Central Maine Community College. The program will be the first of its kind in the area.
The curriculum is offered through online courses so that individuals can complete the program quickly and tailor it to their specific needs. Classes will also be available every other Saturday.
Business professionals who wish to advance their careers could benefit from obtaining an MBA. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, candidates that have acquired extra knowledge for various aspects, which may include accounting, human resources or finance, are preferred. Bo Yerxa, director at SNHU, told the newspaper that "when employers are looking to hire they have more confidence that somebody with an MBA understands enough about those different sectors."
He added that this program can make students more marketable, as they will improve their skills.
Individuals who enroll in similar programs could find that there are high-salaried job opportunities once they graduate. For example, those with an MBA degree could work as a financial controller, marketing director or project manager, according to Payscale.com. All of these positions have the potential to earn more than $100,000 per year.
