MBA candidates in online degree programs may enter an improved job market
Students who have chosen to enhance their qualifications by enrolling in an MBA program at a campus-based or online university may experience improved career prospects when they graduate, new research suggests.
A recent survey from the MBA Career Services Council revealed that business schools and hiring organizations alike are optimistic about the availability of jobs in the coming months, BusinessWeek reports.
Approximately 34 percent of business schools reported an increase of full-time job postings during the fall 2009 semester, according to the news source.
Career services officers indicated that they anticipate this trend will continue, as 31 percent of these professionals said they expect the number internship opportunities for first-year students to grow this year.
The Graduate Management Admissions Council found that these expectations are consistent with the plans of many of the nation's employers, as 35 percent of them told the organization they want to hire more MBA graduates than they did last year.
Individuals who enroll in online courses may be able to spend more time preparing for the recruitment process or obtaining work experience, as these classes can allow them to complete their coursework on their own time.
