According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), there are many different aspects of the art industry in which individuals have the choice to specialize. They may become sculptors, cartoonists, illustrators or photographers. These professionals could find a master's degree that focuses on emerging jobs within this field might lead to an increased amount of opportunity.

Fortunately, some schools are creating new campus-based and online degree programs in these fields. East Tennessee State University (ETSU) will provide students with the option to obtain a master's degree in new media studio, which is set to begin next fall, according to TriCities.com.

Individuals who enroll in the new courses will learn how to apply traditional art to up-to-date technology within the digital media platform. The news source reports that students will enhance their knowledge and skills in image editing, 3-D animation, graphic design and video and special effects.

The program is intended to prepare students for a number of jobs within this sector of the art industry. These include motion graphics designers, art directors or animators.

Similar master's degree programs may benefit artists who would like to find more career opportunities. For example, the BLS reports that graphic designers can work in various places, including advertising or computer firms as well as newspapers and publishers.
