Marylhurst University to offer MBA program in sustainable business

Marylhurst University has announced it will begin offering an MBA program in sustainable business for individuals who wish to become managers in the clean energy or environmental protection sector, the Daily Journal of Commerce Oregon reports.

The program is intended to be finished within 18 months after the completion of 12 five-week classes. Students can choose to earn the degree by taking either classroom-based or online courses. Degree candidates can choose to pursue a concentration in one of four subjects: green development, natural and organic resources, renewable energy or government and policy administration.

The curriculum will be divided between nine core courses and three concentration courses. In all fields of study, environmental coursework will be tied into typical management classes on topics such as finance, marketing and general business.

Students who have already earned some graduate-level courses in a business program may be able to earn their degree sooner, as the school allows students who have earned at least a B in courses taken within the past five years to transfer their credits.
