Kentucky-based university offers alternative to MBA program
In order to offer students a different form of graduate-level education in business, Campbellsville University has announced the launch of a masters program in organizational leadership, which students may complete through online courses.
The 30-hour program will be available in both classroom- and web-based formats, which could allow students to hold onto their current jobs while they work toward a higher degree. The curriculum will focus on leadership skills that integrate the principles of Christianity by calling upon the expertise of faculty members from the school's religious programs.
Pat Cowherd, dean of the college's School of Business and Economics, said that this new program is intended for students who "are looking for advancement in their organizations but do not want to pursue an MBA."
Individuals who choose to enroll in similar masters programs may take courses in subjects such as ethics, motivation, creativity, vision, strategic planning, teamwork, group development, technology, customer service and organizational development.
Enrollees are required to have a bachelors degree in order to pursue this course of study, according to school officials.
