International research an important factor in choosing school
As businesses continue to become increasingly globalized, prospective students who are looking at graduate programs in business should consider a school's offerings in international economics before deciding which programs to which they will apply.
An international economics study in the International Business Review recently showed that the research done by business professors plays an important role in providing their students an understanding of the issues facing globalized companies.
The study's authors wrote that this type of knowledge is becoming more in demand as many larger companies are looking to take their businesses around the world, making it even more important for schools to provide this type of learning to their students.
"As business continues to internationalize, the need for researchers and academic institutions to produce significant and impactful international research also increases," wrote the authors. "An important contribution of this study is its evaluation of the [international business] field across an array of business disciplines."
The study rated Yadong Luo of the University of Miami the top business professor for international business research.
