Graduate schools gain recognition for entrepreneurship programs

Chief executive officers (CEOs) have the potential to make more than $200,000 per year, according to Payscale.com. Individuals who want to start their own businesses in order to achieve similar salaries may want to consider obtaining a master's degree that could help them develop a marketable skill set.

Some schools have received recognition for programs that specialize in entrepreneurship studies.

For instance, The Simmons School of Management was recently recognized for having one of the top graduate programs for entrepreneurial studies.

Teresa Nelson, the program's director, says that professionals are launching their own businesses at an increased rate, and a master's degree in entrepreneurship could allow these individuals to enter fields such as technology, fashion or nonprofit business.

Individuals who are enrolled in these courses may be required to develop ideas, participate in a mentoring program and shadow successful entrepreneurs.

Professionals may find that a master's degree in entrepreneurial studies allows them to acquire the hands-on experience they need to implement their ideas into the modern business sector.
