College launches accelerated online MBA program
On average, individuals who hold an MBA degree can earn between $66,971 and $209,630 per year, depending on their position and experience, reports PayScale.com. Although new graduates entered an unstable job market last year, companies are now hiring more individuals with these degrees.
In anticipation of this trend, Midway College recently announced the launch of an online MBA program. Midway is offering an accelerated degree track that is designed to benefit individuals working in the industry.
"This initial class of professionals and managers working together on various class projects has demonstrated the success of our MBA program," said Eric Bolland, chair of the school's MBA department.
"I believe these graduates will have much success in their careers based on their many classroom achievements," he added.
Students can expect to complete the online degree program in as few as 20 months. Coursework includes the study of topics such as organizational management, critical thinking, business theories and core principles of leadership and management.
According to a survey given by the Graduate Management Admission Council, about 55 percent of companies that responded said that they planned to hire new MBA graduates this year, and 59 percent said that they planned to offer signing bonuses. Responding recruiters said that they plan to offer starting salaries of around $80,000, which is about twice the wages of new bachelors degree graduates.
