Business school launches one-year MBA program
To help recent college graduates continue their educational momentum, administrators at the University of Denver's Daniels College of business have created an MBA program that can be completed in one year.
The program, which will be completed in August, is designed to build upon undergraduate curriculum in order to help students transition from bachelors-level to graduate-level coursework. Consequently, those who wish to enroll in the program must do so within 11 months of graduation from a bachelors degree program.
Courses will examine specific aspects of traditional business study while integrating ethics and values-based leadership. Degree candidates will be required to choose a concentration in marketing, innovation, entrepreneurship, finance, accounting or real estate and construction management.
Furthermore, students in the program will have the opportunity to write business plans, participate in consulting projects, and receive career and professional development coaching. Individuals who choose to enroll in online MBA programs may be able to make more time for similar experiences.
"Students in the one-year program will emerge with not only the critical thinking skills and the technical knowledge that the marketplace expects from an MBA graduate, but also with an ability to navigate in times of changing business models," said Christine Riordan, dean of the business school.
