Business school enhances online courses to prepare students for the modern workforce
Current events such as climate change and the economic downturn have prompted many campus-based and online schools to tweak their offerings in an effort to produce well-prepared graduates.
For example, Arizona State University's W.P. Carey School of Business recently announced a series of changes that will be made to its traditional and online MBA programs, the Phoenix Business Journal reports.
During the upcoming semester, business students will have the option to take classes that focus on sustainability. Furthermore, the school will increase its online course offerings in marketing, supply chain management, finance and international studies. In fact, degree seekers will soon be able to take classes in Italy and Germany as part of the revamped global business curriculum.
These upgrades are intended to enhance the's college's "focus on leadership and sustainability practices," Robert Mittelstaedt, the school's dean, told the media outlet.
Individuals who have gained a well-rounded business education through similar MBA programs could increase their chances of landing high-paying jobs in the contemporary workforce. According to PayScale.com, a research company, MBA holders typically earn between $48,377 and $209,630 per year.
