Babson College creates initiative to promote global entrepreneurship
More graduates of campus-based and online MBA programs are looking to use the business skills they have learned to launch their own ventures. Consequently, many business schools are beginning to integrate entrepreneurial teachings into their curricula.
For example, Babson College recently announced the launch of the Babson Entrepreneurship Ecosystem project, which will challenge students to help societies across the globe become more small business-friendly.
Participants will be required to create policies, structures and programs that foster entrepreneurship. These students will be required to follow a series of rules that were developed based on the venture-launching experiences of more than two dozen countries.
School officials hope that, in addition to giving students real-world experience, the program will inspire societies around the world to promote small businesses.
"Dozens of countries have experimented with entrepreneurship: many mistakes have been made, and some very beneficial programs have been developed," said Daniel Eisenberg, a professor of management education at the school.
He added that the solutions developed through the project could create a "practical program for leaders."
