Completion of online courses may boost earnings of healthcare workers

In order for healthcare professionals such as nurses to advance in their careers, many employers require that they earn higher education. Those who wish to do so may want to enroll in an online program, as web-based courses allow working adults to continue their education without disrupting their day jobs.

For example, programs such as Health Education Solutions online Stroke Special courses offer healthcare workers a convenient way to boost their skills on their own schedule. The Stroke Special series includes articles and important facts regarding the American Heart Association's (AHA) stroke certification classes. The program was designed for healthcare providers and first responders.

"Stroke is the third leading cause of death in the United States," said David King, president of Health Education Solutions. "Now more than ever, it's vital for healthcare professionals to have the knowledge, training, and resources to recognize a stroke and understand the steps to take to maximize survival."

Information taught in the program includes common risk factors, differentiating strokes from other conditions and the essentials of survival. Health Education Solutions provides the cognitive portions of each AHA course, including Acute Stroke, Stroke Pre-hospital Care and Stroke Hospital-based Care.
