Western Kentucky University to help its students pay for textbooks
MBA candidates may be able to save money on their education by enrolling in an online degree program or taking advantage of financial aid opportunities, such as those that are available through Western Kentucky University (WKU).
Officials from the school's Gordon Ford College of Business have announced they will award free textbooks to students who enroll in its MBA program before April, Business First of Louisville reports.
This program is intended to encourage students to pursue a degree, particularly those who fear they may be out of practice or unable to make the financial commitment it takes to earn an MBA.
Bob Hatfield, the university's MBA coordinator, told the news source that many students "have been out of school for a number of years and may be surprised by the price of textbooks," as the average annual cost of these materials is nearly $1,000 per student.
MBA candidates at WKU can also choose to take online courses in order to earn their degree. According to the school's website, students can take two classes per semester and obtain their MBA in two to five years.
