Despite the downturn in the economy, a growing number of professionals are investing in real estate. In addition, many individuals are building custom homes. Due to the increase in new construction, contractors - those who build residential, industrial, commercial and other buildings - are in popular demand.

In an effort to assist adults who wish to work in construction, the National Association of Government Contractors (NAGC) recently partnered with Villanova University to offer NAGC members discounts on online contract management certificate courses. Members who wish to enroll in a web-based certification course with the university receive a 10 percent savings on tuition.

Villanova is offering a discount on its graduate certificate in government contract management. The three-course program is designed to prepare students for NAGC certification as a certified government contractor.

"Professionals who have attained a Villanova master certificate and NAGC certification can prove they have the skills and knowledge required to excel in complex government contract negotiations," said Simon Brody, director of communications for the NAGC. "They'll also benefit from valuable networking opportunities and national recognition as an expert in the government contract arena."

The university also offers online certificates in federal and professional contracts management.
