Students taking online courses in public relations can win scholarships
College students who are pursuing degrees in communications at on-campus or online universities may consider applying for scholarships, such as the one offered by Allison and Partners.
Earlier this month, the communications firm partnered with the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) to award its annual Stephen D. Pisinski Memorial Scholarship at the Public Relations Student Society of America's (PRSSA) National Conference Awards Ceremony.
The award was established in 2002 to honor Stephen D. Pisinski, a PRSA member and founder of The Montgomery Group.
This year, the award increased in value from $1,500 to $3,000 that will go toward tuition costs for one student.
To apply for the scholarship, candidates must be entering their junior or senior year and majoring in public relations, communication or journalism. Applicants must also be PRSSA members and show evidence of a GPA of 3.3 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
The awards are intended to recognize "the important role the next generation plays in shaping the future of the public relations industry," said Scott Allison, the firm's president and CEO.
Similar financial aid opportunities may be available for students who are enrolled in online degree programs in a communications-related field.
