Students receive scholarships from credit union
Prospective students who are looking to earn a degree at lower cost can find many annual scholarship opportunities provided by several organizations, such as the OMNI Community Credit Union.
For example, the OMNI Community Credit Union has announced it will award $1,000 scholarships, according to the OMNI Gives Back website.
This financial aid opportunity will assist five high school seniors, who are members of the credit union, pursue higher education. Eligible candidates must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and submit an essay about the benefits of being a member of a credit union, the news source reports.
Submissions must also include a copy of the students' high school transcripts and letters of acceptance or proof of registration from an accredited academic institution.
"OMNI is proud to support our young members as they further their academic career," stated Ted Parsons, chief executive officer at OMNI, quoted by the Battle Creek Enquirer.
Individuals who are family members or share a residence with OMNI employees or directors are not eligible to apply for the scholarship.
June 1 is the last day to submit applications, and scholarship winners will be announced by the end of the month.
Recipients will be selected based on achievements documented in their applications and their essay responses.
