STA education foundation honors students in South Carolina

The Student Transportation of America Education Foundation (STAEF) will honor 16 high school students from the Greater Charleston, South Carolina area with scholarships worth $1,000 each.
The scholarships will be presented to students who have displayed pride in their community and have chosen to attend a college or university in South Carolina. An awards luncheon is scheduled for June 7 to recognize this year's award winners.
"We want to congratulate the scholarship recipients on their tremendous success and strongly encourage members of the local community to support the STA Education Foundation through its events so that we can help even more students in the area pursue higher education," said Denis Gallagher, CEO of the Student Transportation of America.
The STAEF is the philanthropic arm of Student Transportation of America, the third largest provider of school bus transportation services in North America. Since its inception in 2003, the foundation has raised nearly $200,000 and awarded more than 80 scholarships to students who demonstrate academic achievement, community service and leadership.
